Middle School
Grades 7 to 9
In middle school, every member of our school community works in partnership with parents to provide well-rounded social-emotional formation, taking into account each student's characteristics and context. We focus on helping each student learn to value and care for themselves, making the most of the gifts they have received.
We walk alongside our students as they build an authentic, mature and healthy personality that allows them to pursue, more fully and in keeping with their dignity, the path toward their own fulfillment and transcendence.
We foster Christian leadership of service so they can respond to the needs of others as citizens committed to themselves, their families, their community and the world.
At this stage our students join ECyD, which stands for "encounters, convictions and decisions" (encuentros, convicciones y decisiones). The name captures the spirit of ECyD: through a variety of encounter experiences, teenagers gain firm convictions for their lives and learn to make free and responsible decisions according to the Gospel.
We show what is good through concrete examples so students recognize its benefits and freely choose to pursue it. We promote discipline that is both firm and kind, mindful of each student's need for identity and belonging.
We want students to use technology effectively and efficiently as a tool to boost their productivity, develop their creativity, communicate ideas and learn collaboratively, without losing sight of the responsibility its use entails.
Through educational technology, robotics and the STEAM methodology (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math), we help students see technology:
Students expand their vocabulary and learn to use English correctly at an advanced level, well beyond functional. Our high standard of bilingual education is backed by our Cambridge certifications. Starting in 7th grade, our students learn French as a third language.
We educate at every moment, in every space and setting. Every opportunity, inside and outside the classroom, is used for teaching and formation. We rely on a range of resources to support this process:
Through sports, our students get to know themselves, learn to overcome challenges, build willpower and character, and develop psychomotor, emotional, social and intellectual skills.
We also give students constant exposure to art and culture, helping them develop critical and creative thinking as well as a range of emotional skills.
